Zanubia began studying Middle Eastern Dance with Meara of Dallas in 1975. She attended many seminars with the Masters of the Art such as Ibrahim Bobby Farrah, Serena, Morocco and Jamila Salimpour. She was particularly influenced by Jamila Salimpour and her troupe Bal Anat. Zanubia was very active in the Dallas dance scene for many years, performing at private parties and Belly Dance seminars as a solo artist, as a duo with her friend Justine and as a member of the Marrakesh Dancers.
