Esencia Flamenca is a 501c3 nonprofit Dance Company whose focus is to promote the art of Flamenco dance and music. EFDC was established in the year 2000 . It was recognized as a 501c3 in May 2006. EFDC strives to educate the public about Flamenco through performances, lectures, classes, and workshops taught by internationally known artists. Esencia Flamenca Dance Company is directed by Sarah Parra Sarah Parra has been teaching in Long Beach for over 10 years. Her mission has been to create a community of well trained and educated Flamenco dancers. This year EFDC has added 4 new teachers Andrea Flores, Lisa Smith , Monica Gava , and Etsuko Yokoi.
